Abraham MaslowAbraham Maslow (1908-1970) was one of the key founders of humanistic psychology, which views people as people, rather as things to be studied like rats in a laboratory. Before his work, most psychology research was medically-based and about psychiatric illnesses. Maslow studied normal, healthy people. Maslow gained most fame from his 'Hierarchy of Prepotence' or 'Hierarchy of Needs' as it is most commonly known. See also:Maslow's Hierarchy |
